In 1991 Stanford Newman met with Don Carlos Fuente, Sr. to discuss a special cigar for the Newman Cigar Co.'s 100th anniversary in 1995.  Together they created a remarkably creamy, full flavored blend of Dominican tobaccos with a Connecticut Shade wrapper that would debut in April of 1995 as Diamond Crown.  These were once only available on the west coast but today are sold at the finest stores in the country.  The Diamond Crown is a limited production cigar and still one of the most unique blends the Newman Cigar Co. produces.
