In 1998 a hurricane ravaged the Caribbean and tore through Chateau de la Fuente in the Dominican Republic where the Fuente's grow the tobaccos for their famed OpusX.  Two years later the Fuente's ran into a shortage of Dominican OpusX wrapper leaf, a biproduct of the damage caused by the hurricane.  So Carlito Fuente kept the Dominican filler/binder blend of their OpusX and then added a 5-year old Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper that was aged in old Cognac barrels.  The blend yields a rich, spicy, slightly sweet smoke while the unique aging process leaves a distinct finish.
